Trust announces new governors

Making_a_positive_difference_ribbon.jpgThe Trust is pleased to announce the following new governors will be joining our Council of Governors. We would like to thank them all for taking a keen interest in our Trust and we look forward to their valuable input. Their terms of office began on 2 June 2018.

Public Governors:

Amber Valley: 
Karen Smith:
 Karen currently works with adults within Derbyshire. This involves safeguarding and multi-disciplinary working with partner agencies, including health professionals. She has experience in governance, recruitment and working with stakeholders.

Bolsover and North East Derbyshire: 
Nicki Morley:
 Nicki has a passionate interest in fairness and developing services in Derbyshire and she feels that service users should work closely with service providers to enable effective outcomes for all. Nicki would like the opportunity to give something back to the Derbyshire communities. She has a strong sense of fairness, equality and belief in a person-centred approach to Derbyshire services providing the best outcomes for all.

High Peak and Derbyshire Dales (two governors elected):
Ann Grange:
 Ann has experience in working in both statutory and private health services. She has worked within the voluntary and charity sectors and understands the perspective of patients, providers and commissioners. She would like to make a positive difference and help shape the delivery of excellent services. She feels that the needs of our community can be met in an integrated way if statutory, voluntary and private sectors all work together.

Marie Varney: Marie has worked within many multi-agency teams and therefore worked closely with both adult and child health service providers. She also has a working knowledge of statutory and voluntary sectors, supporting the most vulnerable in our community. She is now in a position to reflect on how best to continue contributing to serving our most vulnerable.

Staff Governors – Nursing Staff:

Jo Foster: Jo works as a Ward Manager on one of the acute wards on Hartington Unit. She holds the Trust values very much to heart and completely believes that by putting colleagues first, we can achieve a more positive, happy and productive place, which can only positively impact on our care delivery to our patients.

Al Munnien: Al works as a Night Co-ordinator based at the Radbourne Unit. He believes in supporting all levels of staff to ensure that the Trust continues to offer high-quality care for patients. He is passionate about supporting colleagues and patients alike and is committed to making a difference.

Staff Governors – Admin and Allied Support staff:

Kelly Sims: Kelly has been re-elected as staff governor. She feels honoured to represent her constituency, which includes admin and clerical, estates and facilities and corporate staff. She is committed to the role and the duties it entails. Her aim is to improve working lives and to improve our patient experience.

Lesley Hayes: Lesley’s first aim is to make a positive difference. She aims to represent the views and needs of staff, using energy and enthusiasm. She is passionate about improving staff health and wellbeing. She believes in the importance of putting people first and in so doing, providing a good standard of patient care. She will advocate for dignity, respect, honesty and inclusion and challenge discrimination.
