Smoke Free

The Trust complies with the law in respect of providing a Smoke Free workplace and therefore a Smoke-free environment for all in it’s building from July 1st 2008.  It is our intention to extend this to all our grounds and external areas becoming Smoke-free by 01 July 2009.  These restrictions do and will apply to staff, patients and visitors.  With colleagues in Public Health, the Trust is trying to promote the better health and well-being of all who provide, use or visit our services.  There are a range of Smoking Cessation services and support available for people who need help to cut down or stop smoking whilst receiving or working in our services.
If you have any questions please contact the Trust Smoke-free Workplace Lead, Stephen Edgeley, our Head of Patient Safety and Safeguarding Lead on 01332 623776.

Smoking is seen as having a negative effect on maintaining health or promoting recovery. As a healthcare organisation we have a duty to protect patients visitors and staff from the harmful effects of tobacco smoke.
