Property and Money – Safekeeping while you are in hospital
If you are admitted to hospital, you may obviously have with you personal property and money. We would advise the following in these circumstances:
- where possible, please do not bring anything of value with you into hospital. If possible, please ask a relative or friend to take it home for safekeeping
- however, we do acknowledge that you may need to bring with you some money and some items of personal property. Please note that the Trust will accept no responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, personal property of any kind, however this may occur, unless an official receipt is obtained for property or money which is handed in for safekeeping
- on admission to the ward, you should check with the Nurse in Charge or your Care Coordinator how to hand over any property or money for safekeeping
- you will be given information on the storage of your property and money and how you are able to access this if necessary
