If you are reading this after you have harmed yourself by overdosing with a medication or medicines, or by swallowing poisonous substances you do need to be seen straight away in an Emergency Department.
Please ring 999 or 112 and arrange for an ambulance. If you are in a lot of distress, try to arrange someone to accompany you to hospital, or to be met by someone who you feel is safe and trusting.
Whilst in the emergency department you should be offered treatment for your physical condition and you may be offered a bed in hospital overnight or for longer if necessary. You should also be offered an assessment of your mental health and your social needs as well as your physical needs.
